Elk Grove, Illinois-based Wynright Corp. announced plans Tuesday for the $26 million, 320,000-square-foot plant on 44 acres at a Hobart business park. The new plant will make material handling systems for the logistics industry.
Wynright designs, makes and installs intelligent material handling systems, including conveyor and sorting systems, automated storage and retrieval systems and various robotics. The company's key markets include footwear, apparel and grocery distribution, third-party logistics and general distribution.
The plant is expected to open in late 2019, the Times of Northwest Indiana reported.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Wynright up to $5.9 million in conditional tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on the job-creation plans.
