because of caps on property taxes.
A new analysis released Monday by the Legislative Services Agency predicts that
the caps will save property owners $441 million next year, up from $392 million predicted in March. The caps in 2011 are expected
to cut bills by $470 million, up from the $443 million earlier predicted.
Officials say new data about expected
assessed values of property is a reason for the new estimates. The savings that property owners will see is money that schools
and local governments won’t receive.
