The two $20 million grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation will upgrade four miles of I-65 southwest of Columbus and six miles north of Lebanon.
The money will pay for reconstructing existing lanes, adding additional travel lanes in both directions and appropriate shoulders, and improving or replacing bridges and ramps.
The projects cover I-65 between state roads 32 and 47 in Boone County and between state roads 58 and 46 in Bartholomew County.
