I've been critical of the Indianapolis Museum of Arts Summer Nights Film Series in the past (particularly when art-less
films like "Goonies" and "Grease" have found their way onto the schedule), but this year's lineup
looks solid, if not surprising or innovative. And you can't beat the atmosphere on the IMA's back porch.
The selections:
June 4: "Across the Universe"
June 11: "Rebel Without A Cause"
June 18: "The Usual Suspects"
June 25:"Pee-wee’s Big Adventure"
July 2: "Stella Dallas"
July 9: "North by Northwest"
July 16: "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (Midnight)
July 23: "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" (Midnight)
July 30: "The Muppets Take Manhattan"
August 6: "A Fish Called Wanda"
August 13: "Stand By Me"
August 20: "LA Confidential"
August 27: "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"
Tickets are $10 for adults. There's also a barbecue buffet for $30 (kids cheaper) on Fridays from 5:30-8, with diners
getting first choice of seats for the films. more details here.
