Nicole Parker, best known from six years as a writer/performer for Fox's "MADtv," will be returning to her IU roots to pen the book for a new musical.
"Kissing Frogs," which Parker is writing with composer/lyricist Jeremy Schonfeld, will debut in February as a first-ever collaboration between Indiana University Theatre and the Bloomington Playwrights Project. Information here. It's based on Schonfeld's song "Greta." Give a listen to that one here.
Parker, who played the witch in IU's "Into the Woods," recently performed as a replacement Elphaba in the Broadway company of "Wicked." She also appeared in the Judd Apatow film "Funny People." Her "MADtv" impersonations included Lucille Ball, Celine Dion, Fergie, and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Here she is onstage as Sarah Palin performing "Defying Gravity" from "Wicked."
