The producers and writer of the Broadway show "Lombardi" are looking to explore another sport with Magic/Bird.
The title, minus the slash, may sound like a children's fairy tale, but this play by Steppenwolfe Theater Company's Eric Simonson looks at the lives of real life basketball legends Magic Johnson and our own Larry Bird.
According to Playbill.com, the show is shooting for a Broadway run in 2012 and will be produced in association with the NBA. Both Johnson and Bird will be involved with the production.
If you can't wait for that production but need a basketball-on-stage fix (and who doesn't?), the revival of "That Championship Season" began performances in New York this week–starring another Hoosier, Jim Gaffigan.
