You may know the name Frank Basile as one of the city's leading arts philanthropists and/or as a travel columnist for IBJ.
But folks in the opera world know a different Frank Basile as a bass-baritone who has appeared with The Metropolitan Opera, Washington Opera, Sarasota Opera and more.
On Feb. 24, the Indianapolis Opera will be bringing those two men together for "Basile at Basile," an evening of music and film presented at the Basile Opera Center at 4011 N. Pennsylvania St.
What's the film element?
Well, Basile (the singer) is married to Oscar-winner Celeste Holm ("Gentleman's Agreement," "All About Eve" etc.), who will be presented with the Career Achievement Award by Heartland Truly Moving Pictures.
Want to be part of the event? I've got a pair of tickets to give away for the evening. It begins with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at 6, the concert and tribute at 7:30, and a reception afterward.
To win, just enter below naming your favorite talented couple. I'll pick one winner at random.
Want to just go ahead and buy tickets? You can find more information here. To read Indy Frank Basile's account of meeting his namesake, click here.
Good luck.
