- Forever 21 is taking over the former Borders space at Castleton Square Mall. The clothing retailer has begun its transformation of the former bookstore space and should open in about three months, a mall official said.
- Hollister Co. has closed its store at Circle Centre. The teen-oriented retailer, part of Ohio-based Abercrombe & Fitch Co., still has stores at Greenwood Park, Castleton Square and Clay Terrace.
- Staples plans to build a standalone store at the southeast corner of 96th Street and Interstate 69 in a center that includes Kohl's and Meijer. The 15,800-square-foot office supply store would replace a location north of 96th Street between Walmart and Marsh.
- United Package Liquors plans to take about 3,200 square feet for a new store in the shopping center along Broad Ripple Avenue west of Compton Street. The new store will replace the snug United Package store at the northeast corner of Winthrop and Broad Ripple avenues.
- Cheddar's Casual Cafe, a chain based in Texas, plans to open its first central Indiana location along Rockville Road in Avon. Plans call for the restaurant at 9512 Rockville Road to take about 5,000 square feet.
- Jack in the Box has filed plans to open a restaurant near 86th Street and Michigan Road, in front of Lowe's and Goodwill. The restaurant is taking about 2,800 square feet.
- Firestone Complete Auto Care plans to build a new 10-bay tire and auto service center along State Road 135 in Greenwood between the Meijer store at Main Street and Menards. The shop will take 8,400 square feet.
- Aldi has filed plans for a new store near Metropolis mall in Plainfield. The shop is planned for 2382 E. Main St., across the street from a Walmart Supercenter.
- The Runners Forum has opened a store at State Road 37 and 141st Street in Fishers. The homegrown retail chain also has locations downtown across from City Market and at Merchants Square in Carmel.
- Godby Home Furnishings has opened a 40,000-square-foot store in Carmel in the former home of O'Malia's at 13610 N. Meridian St.
