Without any love shown in the Tony Award nominations this morning–and without significant traffic at the box office–the Broadway bro-mance "Magic/Bird" will play its last performance May 12. That's significantly less than the 244 performances that the producers' previous sports play, "Lombardi," racked up.
Would a stronger show have found an audience? Or was there little chance from the get-go for a play about two hard-working rivals on the basketball court.
