Large speculative building to open in Westfield

A 133,154-square-foot speculative building will open this month in Westfield.

Indianapolis-based Jackson Development, represented by real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield, plans to open the $9 million Westfield Business Centre in the 17000 block of Oak Ridge Road, near the southwest corner of U.S. 31 and State Road 32.

The two-story building will open in a small industrial park approved by the Westfield City Council last year. There will be space for as many as four tenants. 

The speculative building will occupy about eight acres and will become Westfield’s largest available block of industrial space, according to a news release.

Jackson Development will build out the space to the design and specifications of its tenants. So far, no tenants have been announced. 

The building's proximity to U.S. 31 will provide quick, non-stop access to Interstate 465, making it appealing to industry, a news release states.

Opening the building will provide existing Hamilton County businesses or new businesses an opportunity to expand or open in Westfield, Cushman & Wakefield representatives said.

"It's significant in that it shows one more way Westfield is growing — it is an indicator of the confidence local investors have in the community,” Cushman & Wakefield director Ryan Baker said in written comments. “Additionally, the tax dollars that will come in on a building of this size and value will positively impact the community in the long run."
