Andy Rogers, who owns The Seasons Lodge, submitted plans to the town’s Development Review Commission this week. The commission OK’d the plans despite his not securing the certificate of appropriateness necessary to gain a county building permit, according to The Herald-Times of Bloomington.
Forty rooms were lost; the new construction will have fewer but larger rooms.
The fire has been attributed to arson, though the exact cause has never been determined.
The success of the lodge is considered vital to the area’s prosperity. As IBJ reported in March, Nashville is worried about rising competition from a new casino and restored grand hotels in French Lick and West Baden Springs about 100 miles to the southwest.
