    1. Your political party can’t tell the difference between male and female, and nominated a drooling old man with advanced dementia for another 4 years
Spare us the condescending comments about who is smart

    2. Lmao Chuck, you’re always here spouting off your ignorance and making it well-known to everyone that you aren’t very smart. Donny Dementia is trashing our country.

  1. Wow. We have no compassion in this state and clearly no interest in improving anything. MAGA wants people to be angry, sad and uneducated and our state “leaders” are falling right in line.

  2. I don’t know Senator Gary Byrne. It is hard to imagine that anyone who has done any teaching or, for that matter is a parent, could claim pedagogical value in stripping social and emotional learning from our educational programs. Yes, teachers are not therapists. But they certainly have to deal with myriad social and emotional learning dynamics in educating our kids. Johnny not doing well in math? Could be we need to teach better. Could be Johnny does not have required aptitude. Or could be that Johnny is capable but has some stuff going on that makes it difficult to learn.

One element of this action is particularly mind-boggling – “The amendment also removes evaluating “social, emotional, and behavioral functioning” from the defined responsibilities of a school psychologist.” Does that mean social emotional learning issues go away or were never present in the first place? Teachers can’t address them and now psychologists are prohibited as well? When a public official makes a pedagogically flawed argument to undercut learning, we have to ask what ulterior motives are at play. Helping children do better is certainly not the driver.
