Arts & Entertainment Preview 2024

Dave’s picks

We’re entering the season of high energy for arts and entertainment in central Indiana, something that radiates through more than 125 events selected for this guide. It’s important to remember, of course, that my selections serve merely as a departure point for what’s planned by organizations.

Much more is out there for audiences to explore, and it’s exciting to note that 60 venues are represented among these curated picks. The New Harmony Project and eight professional theaters are working on PlayFest Indy, a new event we introduce here.

Following this link, you can learn about an unconventional exhibition of sneakers coming to Newfields. And here, Ronan Marra discusses his new role as executive director of Storytelling Arts of Indiana.

The cover of this guide spotlights four people traveling here to entertain, including new Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Music Director Jun Märkl, edgy stand-up comic Sarah Silverman and Broadway superstar Leslie Odom Jr.

That leaves the fourth of our quartet: Taylor Swift, who’s scheduled to set a record for the longest run of consecutive concerts at Lucas Oil Stadium. Swift’s three-night stand is set for Nov. 1-3.
