Indy Eleven fans can catch 20 of the soccer team’s 34 games this season on television.
WISH-TV Channel 8 and WNDY-TV Channel 23 announced Thursday that they have agreed to broadcast all 17 home games at Lucas Oil Stadium and three additional away matchups.
The Eleven move home games this year to Lucas Oil from the Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium on the IUPUI campus. They'll also begin playing in the United Soccer League, a 30-plus-team Division 2 professional league, after four years in the North American Soccer League.
Team officials are expecting 15,000 at Saturday’s game, which would be the largest home crowd in its brief history.
WNDY (MyINDY) will air 17 of the games, starting Saturday, when the Eleven play their home opener against FC Cincinnati starting at 7 p.m. WISH will broadcast three matchs, beginning July 7, when the Eleven battle the Charlotte Independence.
“WISH-TV and MyINDY-TV are proud once again to be the TV home of the Indy Eleven,” said Randy Ingram, WISH-TV vice president and general manager. “We’re looking forward to this continued partnership and our fifth season of bringing the excitement of professional soccer into the homes of our viewers.”
Also returning for their fifth season in the broadcast booth will be play-by-play man Greg Rakestraw and analyst Brad Hauter.
Every broadcast will be followed by the Honda postgame show, a wrap up of the evening’s action featuring highlights and interviews with personalities from both teams.
The full 20-game broadcast schedule is available at WISHTV.com.
