Bio

Shane Phillips is a housing researcher, writer, and consultant based in Los Angeles. He manages the Randall Lewis Housing Initiative at the UCLA Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies, and produces and hosts the UCLA Housing Voice Podcast, a biweekly show that translates emerging policy-relevant research for a non-academic audience. He's the author of the book The Affordable City, which advocates for prioritizing Supply, Stability, and Subsidies and offers more than 50 strategies for improving and maintaining affordability. He has consulted for cities including Reno, NV, Grand Rapids, MI, and Hendersonville, NC, and given numerous keynote presentations across North America. Shane earned his bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Washington and masters degrees in public administration and urban planning from USC.

Bio

Jim Morris is husband to Shantel (28 years), father to Dylan (21) and Kyla (18) and the President & CEO of Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity.  Jim is in his 15th year leadingthe regional affiliate that is part of the worldwide affordable housing mission. He has guided the affiliate from providing 24 housing solutions in Marion County annually to over 100 in four counties annually.  

He has a total of 35 years’ experience in both the nonprofit & market sectors.  He has spent his last 27 years in the nonprofit sector, including 22 as a CEO/Executive Director and his last role in the market sector as the VP of Marketing/Construction for a custom home builder in Florida.

 He completed his MBA in 2008 from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College in Orlando, Florida after being awarded the Martin Bell Scholarship, a full-ride scholarship awarded annually to one senior nonprofit executive who demonstrates outstanding leadership in the nonprofit sector Jim is also a published writer, having written for several magazines.  

He was born and raised in Michigan City and finished his undergraduate work at Ball State University with a degree in Journalism & MarketingHe and his family have attended Common Ground Christian Church since 2011.
