Jury acquits Plainfield woman in newborn’s death-WEB ONLY

A Plainfield woman was acquitted yesterday in the death of her newborn child, but the Kentucky jury convicted Katie McCoy, 20, of tampering with physical evidence. McCoy admitted she gave birth in a Bellarmine University bathroom in 2007, but said the baby was stillborn. McCoy was sentenced to two years in prison.

Teenager surrenders after weekend shooting-WEB ONLY

An Indianapolis teen is behind bars this morning, accused of murdering another teen. Branden Pannell, 18, turned himself into police yesterday. Investigators say Pannell and Daniel Ferguson, 15, got into a fight Friday afternoon on East North Street. Ferguson was shot in the chest and died a short time later.
