Flight schools seem like they practically print money if you can get cheap enough rent. Students & instructors alike are always looking for more flight hours. Students can get financing and instructors are often in stepping stone jobs.
Being forced further out into the exurbs is probably a sign of metro Indy’s growth, but good luck to Mr. Jeffries in Shelbyville! Thankfully it’s not that much further away.
It is interesting that once the FAA approved Greenwood’s ramp expansion, meaning federal money, the airport took steps to “empty” the ramp. Not sure how that all plays out.
