The institutional pharmacy will move to a larger headquarters and warehouse in Carmel as part of its expansion, Indiana Economic Development Corp. said today.
The $1.2 million project will add pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and shipping personnel. Pharmakon already employs 60 people.
Pharmakon received $205,000 in state incentives as well as $16,700 in property tax abatement from Carmel. Pharmakon’s new facility will consist of 21,000 feet at 801 Congressional Blvd.
The company distributes drugs and packaged medications to long-term care facilities and psychiatric hospitals.
Founded in 2003, Pharmakon now distributes pharmaceuticals to more than 4,000 patients at more than 60 healthcare facilities in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Ohio.
