Treat America intends to expand the operations of Café Group, which runs corporate cafeterias, and Capitol Vending, said Chief Financial Officer Mike Meurer. He didn’t disclose the extent of the plans.
Meurer said the Café Group and Capitol Vending names are strong in the Indianapolis area, and, “We want to keep it that way.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Treat Services has been on a growth spurt, having acquired Swanson Corp. of Omaha, Neb., in 2006.
The sale is the latest in a string of divestitures by Indianapolis-based Crystal.
In July, Crystal sold its Coffee Etc. to Copper Moon Coffee LLC, also of Indianapolis. Copper Moon is owned by Lifesong Brands Inc. of Lafayette.
And this spring, Crystal sold off many of its catering contracts, many to Centerplate Inc., which is headquartered in Stamford, Conn.
Crystal is owned by Marsh Supermarkets Inc., the Indianapolis grocery chain acquired in 2006 by Florida-based Sun Capital Partners.
