The Bloomington provider of self-publishing services was outed through a report to the alliance’s hotline, the alliance said.
Author Solutions President and CEO Kevin Weiss said in a joint statement with the alliance that the infringement happened under prior ownership, and that Author Solutions was committed to resolving the matter.
Founded in 1997 as AuthorHouse, the company was sold by Carmel-based Gazelle Tech Ventures to California-based Bertram Capital in 2006.
The company, which employs 230 in Bloomington and 50 in Indianapolis, is adding 140 workers at its headquarters as a result of moving some publishing operations from China.
