1Num Technologies Inc., a startup company that provides telephone services, is still struggling to restore service that was lost Thursday.
In an e-mail to customers on Friday, the Anderson company blamed its vendor, Colorado-based Level 3 Communications Inc., for “arbitrarily” stopping service to its customers’ telephone numbers.
Not only are 1Num customers without service, but 1Num customer service numbers don’t function. “As you can imagine, our numbers were affected by this debacle as well,” the e-mail to customers said.
Attempts by IBJ to reach company representatives for comment were unsuccessful. It wasn’t clear from the e-mail how many customers were affected. Level 3 could not be reached immediately for comment.
1Num offers customers the ability to be contacted through home, office, cellular and other numbers through a single telephone number.
The company is housed in Flagship Enterprise Center, a small-business incubator in the city northeast of Indianapolis.
