An Indianapolis startup company has acquired the intellectual assets of American Sentry Guard for what the new owner described as a fire-sale price.
Armando Perez, who owns Integrated Security Solutions, said he bought the assets at auction late last month for less than $250,000 – half the price the assets would have brought had different buyers attended the auction.
Few, if any, of the roughly 100 bidders would have been able to use American Sentry’s assets as well as Integrated Security could, Perez said.
“We got a steal,” he said.
American Sentry, which specialized in high-end security cameras and systems, closed suddenly last month after its bank called in loans.
Perez, who worked for the Greenwood company for a short period several years ago, said he was stunned by the news. “That company was doing so many things right,” he said. “I couldn’t believe it.”
Integrated Solutions, which also handles security equipment, is headquartered at 1426 Sadlier Circle West Drive on the southeast side. It has six employees and has customers including Don’s Guns.
American Sentry assets included in Integrated Solutions’ acquisition include Web sites, names and a list of 15,000 customers.
