Lilly Endowment will donate $2.8 million in its latest gift to BioCrossroads Inc., the development group that promotes life sciences business in central Indiana.
The money will fund BioCrossroads’ educational and scientific initiatives through 2010.
To date, the endowment has given $16 million to fund such BioCrossroads projects as the Indiana Health Information Exchange, the Fairbanks Institute for Healthy Community and the LINX project to advance Indiana’s drug-development industry.
The endowment was founded in 1937 with Eli Lilly and Co. stock donated by members of the Lilly family. It is separate from the Indianapolis-based pharmaceutical company.
