St. Vincent’s gift amounted to “six figures,” Marian spokeswoman Andrea Fagan said. She said St. Vincent did not want to reveal the exact amount.
The gift allows the college to start building stadium seating for 3,000-plus as well as an upper-level press box at the field. An eight-lane track and artificial turf are in place. The Knights’ recently formed football team is slated to play there in the 2009 season.
Marian has raised $5.5 million toward a goal of $10 million for athletics, Fagan said. An unspecified portion of the $5.5 million has gone toward St. Vincent Health Field.
