Bryan Coats was arrested on Oct. 7 on preliminary charges of burglary and stalking after allegedly breaking into the former wife’s home in Randolph County. Formal charges have not been filed.
Police had been called to the home three times prior to the incident to force him to leave the property.
Directors, including New Castle Mayor Jim Small, said the incident had cast a dark cloud over the organization, according to The Star Press of Muncie.
Coats, who has worked for the group for eight years, will be allowed to continue working for two more weeks, and then will receive two months’ severance pay.
