The mural, which stetches along a concrete retaining wall on Madison Avenue south of Lilly’s campus, was painted during a day when 8,400 employees beautified the city by planting trees, cleaning weeds from parks and framing Habitat for Humanity houses.
Designed by former Manual High School and Art Institute of Indianapolis student Patrick Viles, the mural includes images of the Indianapolis Zoo, the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and other scenes intended to promote fun, hard work and healthy living.
The prior record-holder was painted in China.
