I have a simple solution to raising math knowledge of all Hoosier high school students. The written portion of the Indiana
driver’s license exam should contain two sections: 1) the test about driving, and 2) a test requiring applicants to
demonstrate basic 12th-grade math proficiency. Both must be passed.
I guarantee kids will learn math in a hurry.
The question is, do Indiana adults care enough about their kids’ economic future to take that step?
