planned for December could also put airport visitors in a spending mood. Retail sales at the terminal have suffered this year
due in part to a 10 percent drop in passenger traffic, prompting retailers and the Indianapolis Airport Authority to search
for ways to boost traffic and revenue.
Airport officials say Latin dance groups, African drum ensembles, tuba-playing
Santas and Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra musicians are among those scheduled to perform at the airport’s Civic Plaza through
Dec. 24.
The events kick off Nov. 28 with Santa’s arrival and the Capital City Chorus.
The events also
include a Humane Society of Indianapolis pet outreach event Dec. 12 to help homeless animals find homes.
