Indiana’s unemployment
rate remains high and likely won’t drop for months. Credit is still scarce as banks focus on cleaning up their balance
sheets. Businesses and government alike are coping with declining revenue they don’t see rebounding anytime soon.
Still, even a sluggish economy is better than one in a tailspin.
And there are signs of hope on the horizon,
to be sure: The housing market appears to be on the way back up, and some opportunistic local companies are using the downturn
as a springboard for growth.
