Indianapolis-based MedTech College LLC, a for-profit provider of health care education, has been acquired by a private equity firm in Colorado.
Denver-based Excellere Partners’ portfolio company, JTC Education Holdings Inc., completed its purchase of MedTech on Dec. 31. Terms of the deal, which was announced Wednesday, were not disclosed.
“Strategically, we see tremendous value by partnering with the JTC schools to create the leading health care education provider,” MedTech CEO Joe Davis said in a prepared statement. “Excellere was selected in a very competitive process because [it] demonstrated similar values concerning employees, students, employers and regulatory compliance.”
MedTech’s flagship campus is on East 75th Street on the city’s northeast side. It also has locations in Greenwood, Fort Wayne and Lexington, Ky.
The college offers programs in biotechnology, health care management, medical assistance, medical billing and coding, medical lab technology and nursing.
More than 1,000 students are currently enrolled at the Indianapolis campus, founded by Davis in February 2004.
