in Carmel, the Carmel Performing Arts Foundation announced Wednesday.
The center will recognize the gift by naming
the cafe and gift shop inside the 1,600-seat concert hall after the Basiles. The concert hall is scheduled to open in January
2011 as part of the $150 million center.
"Katrina and I believe that the Regional Performing Arts Center will
help increase the audience for all of the performing arts in central Indiana as well as their donor base," Frank Basile
said in a prepared statement. "That’s why I agreed to serve on the board and make a financial contribution. I believe
that this will be an exciting addition to the arts scene for the entire region."
Basile joined the board of
directors of the Regional Performing Arts Center Foundation in November. He and his wife have made major gifts to several
Indianapolis-based organizations, including the Indianapolis Art Center, Indiana Historical Society and Herron School of Art
and Design at IUPUI.
Frank Basile is a retired executive of the Gene B. Glick Co. Katrina Basile is a real estate
agent.
