Knauf Insulation in Shelbyville has appointed a veteran company executive to its new position of CEO of North American
operations.

Knauf on Tuesday announced that Mark Andrews will no longer lead operations in the United Kingdom and
northern Europe and instead concentrate on North America.

Knauf said in a press release that it created
the new position to “better align the company for anticipated market transformation and increased demand driven in part
by new energy and climate change legislation pending in Congress.”

Andrews led the company’s
operations in the United Kingdom and northern Europe for the past six years.

Knauf makes thermal and acoustical
fiberglass insulation for residential, commercial and industrial building applications. Its two plants in Shelbyville employ
roughly 530 workers.

The German company is Shelby County’s largest employer, according to
the Shelby County Development Corp. web site.
