relate—almost all of my vacations are centered around nature. However, I have also learned that the exploration of natural
areas can take place year-round, not just while on vacation.
Not only does Indiana boast a wonderful state park
system, but there are dozens, if not hundreds, of nature preserves open to the public all around Indiana. The Central Indiana
Land Trust, The Nature Conservancy and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Nature Preserves are just a
few of the organizations that own and manage nature preserves in Indiana.
Many of our preserves are havens for
bird-watchers, wildflower lovers, photographers and those just seeking a little peace and quiet in their busy lives. I hope
you will consider exploring some of what nature has to offer right here in our own wonderful state!
