The expanded service shuttling air travelers and airport workers to and
from Indianapolis International Airport began Feb. 3, to the newly opened Fairfield Inn & Suites
at West and Washington streets.
Others include the Courtyard by Marriott
and Spring Hill Suites, both starting Feb. 18.
IndyGo also plans a
stop at the JW Marriott, which is still under construction, in February 2011. All four hotels are part
of the new Marriott Place complex.
Frequency is every 20 minutes, with
the trip between downtown and the airport taking about as long.
A
number of such specialty routes, including commuter service to Hamilton County, are made possible by federal grants.
The city’s locally underfunded bus service, meanwhile, is reducing and adjusting other routes
as part of a need to cut operating expenses $500,000. Details are available at IndyGo.net.
