since 1960.
Tuition will cost students $39,919. The room and board rate at the South Bend campus will average $10,866.
School officials said Thursday the relatively small increase was in response to the difficulties caused students and
their families by the recession.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame will increase scholarship assistance for the next academic
year by 18 percent to $98 million.
Graduate and professional school tuition also will increase by 3.8 percent,
to about $40,000.
