Heritage Food Service Equipment Inc., a Fort Wayne-based kitchen equipment parts distributor, announced Wednesday it will
expand its headquarters and warehouse operations, creating 150 jobs by 2013.
The company said it will begin hiring warehouse workers and customer service representatives in March, as a $1.5 million
upgrade to its 125,000-square-foot facility is completed.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Heritage up to $1 million in performance-based tax credits and up to $88,500
in training grants based on the company’s job-creation plans.
Also, the Fort Wayne Common Council has approved additional tax breaks at the request of the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic
Development Alliance.
“We believe that Fort Wayne offers us an opportunity to work toward reaching our full potential as a business and we
want to take advantage of the benefits of expanding our facility here,” Heritage Vice President Dave Gawthrop said in
a prepared statement.
Founded in 1987, Heritage has grown to employ more than 200 in Fort Wayne. It has additional warehouse locations in Texas,
Louisiana, Georgia and Florida.
Heritage provides replacement components and accessories for restaurants, cafeterias, hotels, correctional facilities and
hospitals.
