Global consumer packaging manufacturer Rexam plans to expand its operations in Franklin, adding nearly 50 jobs by the end
of
the year.
State economic development officials said Monday that the company expects to create as many as 46 jobs. It already employs
more than 100 at its Franklin facility. Hiring will begin immediately.
London-based Rexam produces more than 55 billion aluminum cans each year. It also makes plastic products ranging from lipstick
cases to prescription pill bottles.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Rexam up to $250,000 in performance-based tax credits and as much as $48,000
in training grants. The city of Franklin is offering up to $100,000 for infrastructure improvements at the site, and officials
will consider a property tax abatement at the request of the Johnson County Development Corp.
