Nearly all of the 55 workers at Indianapolis-based IVC Industrial Coatings Inc. have agreed to move to Brazil in west-central
Indiana as part of the company’s plans to relocate its headquarters and manufacturing operations.
IVC, which manufactures industrial finishes and powder coatings for computers and office equipment, on Tuesday notified the
Indiana Department of Workforce Development of its plans to move.
The company said about 50 of the 55 employees at IVC, located on Valley Avenue near Massachusetts Avenue, said they'll
accept jobs in Brazil.
“Also, our employees have been aware of the relocation for approximately two years,” IVC said in its notice to
DWD.
The company will begin moving operations in May and should be finished the following month. IVC said the Indianapolis facility
will be permanently closed.
IVC also has locations in Grand Haven, Mich., and Casa Grande, Ariz., as well as in the United Kingdom and China. Its customers
include Bose, Herman Miller, Steelcase and Yale Secuity.
