The group says a study found that the four sites need significant renovations to reach current safety codes. The properties being put up for sale are Camp Munsee in Delaware County, Camp Treaty Line in Rush County, Camp Hawthorne Trails in Boone County, and Camp Windigo in Grant County.
Girl Scouts of Central Indiana spokeswoman Deana Potterf says all its girls will still have outdoor opportunities at other camps in the district or in nearby areas.
Henry County troop leader Barb Mofield says she understands the decision because the cost for the needed improvements to the camps would be prohibitive.
