Jordan Oliver decided to become an attorney after hearing about Kalief Browder, a 16-year-old who was held for years in a New York jail without a trial for allegedly stealing a backpack. “That inspired me to go to law school because it showed me the importance that advocates play in our society.” After high school, he joined the Marines and served active duty while simultaneously completing his undergraduate degree in accounting and finance. After serving four years, he came back to Indianapolis for law school. During law school, he worked at the U.S. Attorney’s Office and Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, and externed for a federal judge. His practice now is split primarily between white-collar investigations and commercial litigation.
