A water-main break near the Borders bookstore at Castleton Square Mall closed many of the stores at the state's largest shopping center.

Simon Property Group spokesman Les Morris said 110 out of 130 mall stores were open late this morning, but Borders and 19 other stores in the "lifestyle" area of the mall were closed. Some of those may re-open today, he said.

The Borders store is part of an open-air lifestyle center next to the main mall. The 1.38 million-square-foot mall is owned and managed by Simon.

Morris said remediation had been ongoing since 4 a.m.

"It looks pretty good in terms of some of the affected stores re-opening," he said. "The damage is minimal."
