You probably know Olivia West as the in-arena host for Indiana Fever and Indiana Pacers games. You hear her voice as she programs the in-game activities during timeouts and halftime. She describes what she does as “activating” the fans by playing games, inserting high-energy and witty commentary, then conducting post-game interviews with players. “I’ve always had the gift of gab where I’ve never had a problem standing in front of crowds and performing,” she said. “From growing up showing horses and pigs and playing basketball, I’ve always had a confidence and knack for connecting with people, which made my transition into my role as an emcee as easy as butter.” Lesser known about West is that her full-time job is as DEI program consultant for Eli Lilly and Co. In that role, she advances the company’s commitment to embed DEI in all it does. She leverages data insights to inform decision-making, program development and continual improvement.•
