Democratic House Speaker Patrick Bauer says the administration of Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels should become more willing
to share budget information and other data.
Bauer asked the Indiana Economic Development Corp. this month for information on incentives given to companies that locate
jobs and projects in Indiana. Bauer told reporters Thursday that it was refreshing to get a response from the agency this week and that
he hoped other state departments would follow suit.
Bauer says he's considering legislation in the 2011 session that would allow greater access to government data, but didn't
give details.
Democratic legislators also have been asking for information on spending cuts ordered by the governor. The Daniels administration
has said that it set overall cut targets but left specific decisions up to individual agencies.
