Gov. Mitch Daniels on Thursday appointed Bruce Cole, a former Indiana University art history and comparative literature professor,
to IU’s board of trustees. Daniels also named Morgan Stanley vice chairman Bill Strong to IU’s board.

Cole, who chaired the National Endowment for the Humanities early in the last decade, and Strong replace Steve Ferguson,
an executive at Cook Group in Bloomington, and venture capitalist Jack Gill. Both are leaving the board.

Daniels also reappointed Eli Lilly and Co. Chief Financial Officer Derica Rice to the IU board.

Reappointed Purdue trustees were McDonald’s USA President Don Thompson and Keith Krach, CEO of California-based holding
company 3Points Inc.
