As a downtown resident of over 30 years I feel that it is a privilege to use the facilities that we as a city have created
downtown. Black Expo has violated that privilege and needs to look at other venues that can be controlled and deter the overflow
negative crowds that cause the major problems.
[In response to a suggestion in the July 26 editorial] the State Fairgrounds fit that scenario. It can be controlled
and, unless you are attending the events that are sponsored by Black Expo, there is no area surrounding the fairgrounds to
gather, mill around and create the problems that have become part of the event.
