St. Louis-based Edward Jones said Wednesday it plans to open an additional 63 branches in the Indianapolis area within the
next five years.
The financial services firm, which already has 90 branches in the city and surrounding counties, thinks it can sustain the
additional growth. Branches are typically staffed by one financial adviser. The company has more than 10,000 branches nationwide.
“We’re looking at demographics; we’re looking at the underserved markets in those areas, and we think there’s
a need for that,” said John Bouvy, an Edward Jones regional leader in Plainfield. “So if there’s a need
… why shouldn’t we be there?”
The launch of the growth plan is contingent upon how quickly the firm can hire and train advisers.
Edward Jones is set to host a recruiting event for minority job seekers from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hilton North, 8181
N. Shadeland Ave.
