Mitch Daniels' presidential aspirations is rising with reports that he has been hosting a series of dinners with top Republican business and policy leaders from around the country.
Former Congressman George Nethercutt of Washington state says he attended a dinner at the governor's Indianapolis residence in June, along with about 10 others. He said the dinner guests and Daniels discussed defense policies.
Nethercutt says Daniels did not say he was considering running for president but was interested in the national security issues being discussed.
Daniels has left open the possibility of a White House run in 2012.
The dinners were first reported Tuesday on the Washington political Web site Politico.com.
