Two tech firms located in Northwest Technology Center in Zionsville plan to invest nearly $3.6 million to create 314 jobs over the next four years, economic development officials announced Wednesday morning.

Mobi Wireless Management LLC, a spinoff of Zionsville-based Bluefish Wireless Management, plans to add 253 employees by 2014, according to the Indiana Economic Development Corp.

Mobi expects to invest $3.3 million in technology upgrades at its headquarters at Zionsville Road and West 96th Street. It plans to begin hiring additional service consultants, operations managers and software engineers by the end of 2010.

Indianapolis-based Bostech Corp., which develops health information software, plans to hire 61 software engineers and sales consultants over the next three years. Ten of those hires should come in 2010, it said.

The IEDC offered Mobi up to $2.9 million in performance-based tax credits and $100,000 in training grants based on its job-creation plans.

Bostech was offered up to $750,000 in performance-based tax credits based on job-creation plans.

Boone County will consider providing tax-increment-finance funds to assist the companies with equipment purchases at the request of the Boone County Economic Development Corp.
