Notre Dame ranked No. 63 on the list, released by Timer Higher Education. The magazine uses data from Thomson Reuters to score each school on teaching, research citations and volume, industry income and international representation among students and staff.
Purdue came in at No. 106 and IU ranked No. 156.
The top five universities in the world are all American: Harvard, California Institute of Technology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford and Princeton.
