HomeTown Sports Indiana, a producer of high school, collegiate and professional sports, will manage the site and provide production support.
The site, www.ihsaatv.org, also will air several live IHSAA tournament games, pairings shows, officials meetings and Indiana high school-related content. Future plans include a “video on demand” option, which will allow viewers to watch replays of recent games or events.
The Internet television station is an extension of the new IHSAA Champions Network, which is a partnership of several Indiana television stations that will air IHSAA championship events beginning this fall.
WTTV-TV Channel 4 in Indianapolis is among the seven stations participating.
The IHSAA’s aim to broadcast more high school games follows a deal made in March between it and cable television providers Bright House Networks and Comcast to air classic high school basketball games.
For no extra charge, Bright House customers can watch classic games on Local On Demand Channel No. 600. Comcast’s digital subscribers can access the IHSAA games in the “Get Local” category of its On Demand library.
